Farming is the major source of employment in Telangana. Majority of the people depend on weaving handloom clothes for their livelihood next to farming. Central government has announced that August 7 will be celebrated as National Handloom Day. This tradition has started from the last two years. Telangana Minister for Industries & IT K.T.Ramarao is coming up with subsidy schemes.. less interest loans for supporting handloom weavers.
They are taking up a programme ‘Woven’ on the occasion of National Handloom Day. We all know that Samantha is the Telangana state ambassador for Handlooms, she took to Twitter to reveal about the programme. She tweeted that “It gives me great happiness to announce WOVEN !! @KTRTRS #AWalkToFashion #NationalHandloomDay #ReviveHandloom #TelanganaWeaves”…”The beauty of authentic #HandWoven fabric can only be experienced. Witness this magic of Handloom unfold at #Woven2017 on 7th August”.
On #NationalHandloomDay, let us affirm that we will give an impetus to the handloom sector & use more handloom products in our daily lives.
